Beginnings
To the ones who live gently and dream freely.
The Heart of hello ronron
I grew up finding joy in transforming preloved garments—mixing and matching pieces from my mother’s wardrobe, inspired by the skillful hands of the women in my family. Clothing wasn’t just fabric; it was storytelling.
My grandmother hand-quilted bed linens with classic Taiwan peony flower prints, a textile so iconic it adorned countless households since the 1960s. She knitted sweaters for us, each growing larger as I did—a soft reminder of home, warmth, and belonging.
These early memories shaped my love for knitwear and the comforting embrace it carries through life.
Journey
For the life you're shaping—gentle, grounded, yours.
From Taiwan’s humid summers to Canada’s crisp winters, and across the UK and Malaysia, my journey has always been accompanied by the clothes that share my experiences.
Each move carried emotions—departures, arrivals, the thrill tinged with uncertainty upon landing in a new place, and the exhilaration of forging connections in unfamiliar territories. Despite the changes, my dream remained steadfast: to create garments that hold cherished memories and accompany us on our adventures.
"It's not about the dress you wear, but about the life you lead in the dress."
— Diana Vreeland
I envisioned clothing that moves with us, adapts to our needs, and reflects who we are. Thus, hello ronron was born—versatile knitwear crafted for the modern traveler.
Designed to layer effortlessly in colder climates yet breathe in tropical settings, each piece balances resilience with comfort and movement.
Becoming
For those who move with purpose—souls carving their own path.
At its core, hello ronron is a tribute to mindful design and cherished heritage.
Rooted in my East and Southeast Asian influences, I incorporate elements of the Cheongsam and Kebaya into low-waste knitwear, bridging tradition with innovation. Every garment is a canvas for self-expression—crafted to last and be lived in.
From my years at London’s Central Saint Martins, through my career as a fashion designer, printed textile designer, and theatre costume designer, to my journey as an entrepreneur, hello ronron embodies embracing the present, cherishing the past, and stepping boldly into the future.
